A characterful vintage maritime oil painting of a tall sailing ship under full sail, leaning through a rolling blue sea beneath a bright, cloud-filled sky.
White-tipped waves, circling seabirds and finely painted rigging give the scene plenty of movement. Presented in a rich dark wood-effect frame with a slim gilt inner border.
Signed at the lower right, appearing to read “Longene” or similar. The signature has not been authenticated and the artist is not formally attributed.
Measurements
Approximately 32cm wide × 28cm high, including the frame.
Condition
Light age-related marks and wear to the frame and artwork, consistent with previous use. Please see all photographs for details.
